Frequently Asked Questions?
where do I drop-off and pick up kids my?
There are two options:
- You can park and walk directly to the area where your teacher will meet the whole classroom (you will find out specifically where on the school grounds your child will need to be once you find out who their teacher is) Please note that parking is limited and can fill up rather quickly. Arrive early enough to allow yourself time to park.
- You can use the Hug N Go Lane. There is a hug and go lane at the U driveway in the front of the school and a second lane located in the back of the school parking lot. When dropping off you may not park - simply help your children out of the car and there will be designated people to assist your child on where they are going if they need help. Remember when picking up, lines can be a bit of a wait so please let your child know that they may not see you right away but you are in line with your car waiting for them.
What does the whistle mean after school?
Staff members will blow a whistle 15 minutes after 2:30pm to help with any children needing assistance (i.e. if children’s parents are running late) and bring them to the front office until a parent or guardian arrives.
How does the hug 'n go lane work?
Hug 'N Go Lane is for quick drop offs. Please stay in your car and have children exit the car from the right or passenger side. This helps keep everyone safe as cars and buses pass on the left side or driver side.
how do kids know where to go for after school programs?
Please ask your child's teacher about this. Each program meets in different areas of the school campus. Some after school program leaders pick up the kids by the front entrance and others pick up at the classroom. Some classroom teachers encourage kids to have tags on their backpacks with the child's after school program and dates, and etc.. Each classroom teacher and after school program are different.
How hot lunches work for families who opt in?
To allow your children the option to purchase food at the cafeteria sign up HERE. At your child’s designated lunch time, their class will form a line outside the cafeteria and the cafeteria Manager will help them select their lunch or ensure they are getting the food that has been ordered for them.
